AI enhancement

First I am fairly new, and am working my way up the AI difficulties, right now I am on Normal so my request may be in the harder difficulties.

I had a large empire with 1 war ship, and I was attacked by someone. I designed some new ships based on what my enemy had and ordered my ship yards to build them.

I do not know how long it took for me to win, but I did not get a UP vote between the start and end of the war.

What I want is for the computer to look at their perspective opponents manufacturing capacity, and possibly the technology differance before starting a war, as that would have saved my opponents life.

One other thing I have noticed is that the computer seems to no build reasonable manufacturing planets so all their ships take forever to build.

Might I ask what level and version you are playing. The AI may have a few issues but industrial capicity at the higher levels is not one of them. They tend to spam there planets with ind sectors and discophery spheres.

I believe at "Normal" the AI is still handicapped. FC is right about building IC's usually not being one of the AI's problems. Turn it up a notch or two and this problem should go away.

I will as soon as its done, this will be my only game at normal, and they do cover their planets with spheres, but that does not make their little ships build any faster as I understand the mechanics of the game. I am on the latest patch (I think, downloaded 2-3 weeks ago)

What about the other thing I wanted:
What I want is for the computer to look at their perspective opponents manufacturing capacity, and possibly the technology differance before starting a war, as that would have saved my opponents life.

Maybe they did, but had a death wish.

Hi!
What I want is for the computer to look at their perspective opponents manufacturing capacity, and possibly the technology differance before starting a war, as that would have saved my opponents life.

For what? To be conquered by another player, or by you a bit lately?

To be more serious: IMO they do, because I don't get much war declarations, despite my military is usually only 20% of the strongest player(s), but my econ and tech are quite on pair with them. But then they likely avoid wars because ia have balanced "pluses" and "minuses" in relations with them.

Maybe it was just the difficulty. And I think I will have to adjust my pluses abd munuses next game.

So far as I am aware the only things the computer looks at before war is your diplomatic relationship and your military rating (which is not based upon tech level at all). I think it should look at more, but that is one for the developers suggestion box.
