Another newbie question....

If you have old ships that are obsolete now, don't disband them. Sell them to minors or gift them to majors to improve relations.
Don't build eveything in every planet. I don't know if you can find the maintenance info somewhere. I know that from time to time I have a report that tells me how much of my income the military maintenance is using. I try to keep it under 30% (more like 20%) except if at war.

If you have too many buildings, you can destroy some (specially when you capture a planet). I only have about 4 planets (out of 15) that have almost everything on it.

If you go to Domestic Policy, look at 'Stats' and then click 'Military' you can see how much your maintenance cost for ships are (though not for each ship)

If you are palying something other than 1.19 or better starbases also have maintenance cost

I would like to know where to find the Starbase maintenance cost. Are better upgraded ones cost more to maintain as well?

10bc. It's counted in your Military expenses, just like the other ships maintainace costs

it depends on what version you're playing: in 1.19, 1.2 and AP-b1.49 there are no more maintenance costs, but starbases cost more and more to build (first free, 2nd, 200bc, 3rd 400bc, etc).
