Game observations

I just finnished a large game. So here goes.

Due to the game being larger, and more resource intensive, virtual memory was always at a premium. No biggie though

The ships graphics would some times show a ship shooting at a different ship then the damage report said they were shooting at.

The backgrounds in the ground combat veiwer does not always show up, and much of the times showed only a black background.

On a Gigantic map, the specail event that forces the max ship speed to 4 is just plain stupid, and makes a gigantic map almost unplayable.

the dread lords are still poping up as a race when the setting is set on random.

Oh and one last one.

The AI never built a factory on any of its research worlds, the fact that it had worlds dedicated to research was really nice but a factory or two is really necessary since they built up far to slowly with the lack of any infrastructure on there research worlds. Especially with the new increased build costs to some of the research buildings.

...perhaps they replaced the factories in the final phase of developing the planet?

Hmmm....while it would be sweet if the AI would do that, in my general experience, it is nowhere near ready to by the time I am invading them.

On some of their core worlds, they would only have factories and xeno labs while I would be universally at industrial sectors and discovery spheres\NLC's.

This sort of....poor infrastructure management seems to have hounded the AI since the start (although admittedly in widely varying degrees). Is it possible to give it a higher priority to building and upgrading the factories it needs\has? So if in the middle of a long string of updating its labs it gets a better factory, it will put the factories at the top of the list, thus getting the rest of its production out faster. Or even just outright purchasing them without bumping them to the top.

And can it also recognize the focus industry buttons? This could help it out a lot. Say, there is no planet development occurring so focus research on a primarily research world and focus shipbuilding on an industrialized world.

These are just a couple ideas that I have been wondering about, that if they are possible to code in would help the AI to compete more effectively. I would love to see it, but if it isn't feasible or whatnot....well, then it wont be in
