3DIcons - My Computer
Icon 9 (My Computer)

Here's the number 9 icon. It's the my computer icon.
There's two objects here. The Monitor and the CPU.
Model:
The monitor is made of three parts, the base, stand and screen.
The base is a sphere with a 0.5 hemisphere and a scaled down height.
The stand is a box with 4x4x2 segments. I bent it to curve with the shape of the base, then, I tapered it to flare out slightly. Finally, I bent it behind the screen.
The Screen is a box with chamfered edged and a sub-object beveled front.
The cpu is made from a box. I also added three other planes to decorate the case like the one in the original XP icon.
Texture:
I used a texture similar to the music note texture for the Monitor stand and base. For the screen, I gave it 2 material IDs and used a multi/sub-object on it. One ID was the same material for the edge of the screen. The other ID is for the blue part of the screen. Which was a color modification to the same texture.
For the CPU, I also I gave it 2 material IDs and used a multi/sub-object on it. The first is a copy of the monitor base texture I used the second one to outline the CPU per the original icon.
Lighting:
I used two omni lights to light the edge of the screen and excluded them from the other objects. I used one more to like the blue part of the screen.
