Governer Bug -- Crash

I'm in the governer screen where I can select new ships for all of my colonies to build. I then notice the circled i on bottom right of each ship slot, so I click on it to check what it is for. The game then crashes. I loaded my autosave, and repeated to click on the i for the same ship for at least 5 times. It still crashed. I even tried clicking on the i's for other ships, and even started a new game. It still crashed.

Could someone look into this?

P.S. Does anyone know what the i is supposed to do? I suspect it has something to do with information, but I can't check because it the game keeps crashing.

Please post your debug.err.

That button should open the ship details screen--if it's crashing whenever you try to open that window, it's likely you have a corrupted dxpack (the debug.err will confirm if this is the case).

First, try a reinstall to make sure your dxpack files are not corrupted.
Also, make sure your using the most recent version of the beta.  (I believe the first beta had some ships that were missing graphics files, which could cause a crash like this)

If it still crashes, and you have a saved game that is crashing every time, please zip the save file ( save files are found in /My Documents/GC2DarkAvatar ) with your debug.err ( found in /Program Files/TotalGaming/GalCiv2/DarkAvatar ) and send it to [email protected] with a brief description of how to reproduce it  (like which ship to click on, etc)

False Alarm!

I've updated from beta 2 to beta 2a, and the problem has since disappeared.
