Skinstudio + Taskbar Bigger Start Button (how??)

I made a post about a windowblinds skin I asked to be created for me. Since I had no replies to that, I decided to once again tackle it myself. With the girlfriend out of town for the weekend, I actually had time to sit and try it out with no annoyances.

Anyways, I have gotten a pretty good headstart for my first windowblinds skin! But I have come to a roadblock .

How do I create a larger than normal start button? Kinda like the Vista orb. Skins that have an extra area about the startbutton.

Thanks .

Oh, and if anyone can point me in the direction of a good skinstudio tutorial that covers more advanced things, that would be great!!

Hello Keikonium,

To make the 'overlay start button you can make button bigger than the taskbar with the 5 states (normal, pressed, disabled, focused and default) and then duplicate it to slice the 2 parts.

1 - the first part may have the middle of the start button and have the same height of the taskbar.

2 - the second part will have the parts (top and bottom)that pass out of the taskbar,
you set this part as "start Button Glow"

To set this you can open the skin in SkinStudio and in the tree panel on right side
of Skinstudio interface go to "Taskbar > Start button [+] Start Button Glow"
OS: in the section "Start Button" you have to 'Enable' the option "Aways show overlay".

If you need a skin as example, look for MikeB314's Cyclops skin in WinCustomize WB gallery.

I hope this steps can help you.
