Unfortunately that option was removed prior to the game's release (the manual has to go to print sometimes months before release, during the beta).

You can replace the stock music (mp3 files), which is located in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\music and GalCiv2\Event Music. Or simply disable the music in-game and run the media player of your choice in the background.

That is alot of work for me personaaly, even though I know how to do it. How hard can it be for the devs to put that in? It can't be as hard as coding AI...can it?

IIRC it had nothing to do with difficulty, rather it was a big cause of support tickets with GC1, so it was dropped.

I run some Kraftwerk, Dopplereffekt, Keith Tucker on Winamp while playing. If you have a solid PC, it doesn't feel stress at all.

OK, so what is/was a "support ticket"?

People emailing support for help.

More precisely, "support ticket" is a formal record of people requesting support.

In snarky-talk, it's a data point that, when classifiable in large numbers, can be a cause for change that might always thrill folks with slightly above-average computer skills
