Super hive doesn't turn off properly with no super abilities

In my latest game, I turned off super abilities. I was playing as the Thalans; while I didn't get speeded up factory building, it certainly looked like I have an expanded range (I started out in the center of a medium galaxy, and my colony ship could reach practically everywhere).

That seems to be true with all races, not just the Thalans. It could be that ship range needs to be nerfed instead.

Range isn't really an issue unless you play on larger maps, and even then it's something which becomes less problematic as starbases are built and planets are colonised.

Was range just changed overall, though? As far as I remember, in a medium galaxy I never could reach the entire map with the initial colony ship.

Ok, I tested further, and Thalans get the same range with super abilities turned off or on.
