Outstanding bugs

The latest beta looks pretty good but I have noticed two small bugs in it.

1. There seems to be some sort of memory leak that affects the ship controls, locking me out of them after a good deal of play. Saving the game and restarting the program clears the condition.

2. Whenever there is a small freighter on a star base, an arriving constructer moves right onto the starbase and I don't get the "do you want to update this starbase" menu. Hitting the build button brings up the menu, so it's no BIG huhu, but I thought you ought to know.

Should any ship on a star base prevent upgrades?

Possibly it might. I don't have any other ships in my present game that are sitting on starbases. And my navy and tech are mean enough that I expect a cultural win in the near future. My opponent has more population than me, but his star systems are starting to defect under pressure from my bases....

(I just got his biggest one surrounded and in the process its neighbour defected. It won't be long now).

The game is otherwise quite stable and I can live with the update thing. The other is a bit more annoying because all of a sudden you can't do anything with the ships and have to save and reload. Also I noted in the previous beta that there were still some strange financial things happening (civilizations in HUGE amounts of debt).

Yeah, I wish I could go into the kind of debt the AI does with what seem to be only minor consequences.

And it does seem that any ship parked on a starbase interferes with the upgrading of the base. It would be nice if that could be fixed, 'cause I often have a warship sitting on a base for protection, so that I have to manually check every base to make sure no Constructors are hanging out without upgrading.

Dave0,
your point 1 seems to be the problem of multiple screen occurring at once. For example, the research screen sometimes get stuck in the background with the effect of replacing the ship controls with a persons face from the research screen.
