Forum Watchlist

I don't know if everyone already knows about this and I'm just the last one to figure it out, but you can add posts to your "Watchlist" and more easily keep an eye on threads that catch your interest.

I'm not quite sure why it took me over 1400 posts to make this "amazing" discovery, but all you do is go to the original post of the thread you wish to watch, click on the "Tools" menu and then click on the "Watch this Post" icon (that's the one that looks like a pair of binoculars).

Then as long as you're logged in you can go to your "Watchlist" by clicking the button next to "My Account" and you're taken to a list of your favorite threads. From there you can see if there are any new replies.

You can delete a thread from your watchlist by checking the box to the left of the post and clicking "Remove". You can also delete all threads from your watchlist by clicking the box to the left of Post Title and clicking "Remove". Whatever will they think of next.

I tried this a while back and I think it also emailed me when something was added, but I can't remember for sure.

It does indeed email you when a reply is posted.

Personally I use the watchlist as a 'threads I need to do something with later or have Cari look at' basket

I don't know if I want to use this feature or not.

Logic Analyzer's have had this feature for some time now. You can set up a trigger condition on the analyzer have it send you an email when the analyzer triggers and then you can remote desktop to the analyzer to scroll through the waveforms or state listings. I've certainly used the remote desktop but I've never yet felt the need to have my logic analyzer send me an email.

Wow, didnt know that either. This should help me keep track of those "ahem" lengthy posts easily.

Thanks, Mumble. I haven't used this feature yet, perhaps I will now. Question: Is there a way to disable E-Mail notices?

I used it for a while, but stopped b/c I ended up adding rather busy threads and that was a lot of email to delete. It'd be nice to have both a "no mail" option and "daily summary" option. Not that I'm a greedy end user or anything...

I don't know, I actually haven't figured out how to *enable* it yet.
