It seems that BioShock, winner of many of the last E3's "best in show" awards will be coming in a little lighter than expected upon its release in June. According to Elizabeth Tobey, the site manager of the title's community site, BioShock will be released with only a single-player campaign. Said Tobey, "BioShock features a compelling storyline that revolves around the experiences of one man as he enters the decaying world of Rapture. Having a multiplayer component would have compromised the story we were trying to tell so we made the decision to keep this game as a single-player experience."
Although bad news for those who love gunplay versus "live" players, the Q&A session did have some good news for gamers. Not only will BioShock's different versions on the PC and Xbox 360 be "exactly the same," but the title is promised to get at least some downloadable content. Who knows, maybe in the end a multiplayer content patch will be released.
