CariElf, what was that temporary Fix you posted sometime ago?

Hiya Cari,
I totally forgot what the temporary fix was that you posted some time ago. You had to edit a file or move a file to correct an error.

ack! I can't remember.

The question is..do i need to restore that file back to the way it was for 1.2 or has 1.2 fixed everything?

Sorry to be so vague.

Does anyone remember what it was? I think it was under the title Temporary Fix or something!

One more thing, Cari.
If we want to burn a backup of our install..do we just copy the entire folder (/galciv) to a cdr or are there other files we need to backup in other directories?

I'm getting a new pc and need to move the game :D or else hmmm..should i just re- d/l the entire thing?
I dunno

I think you can use Stardock Central's Archive/Restore function for that. Copy the zip file from the BACKUP directory onto a CD and when you install SDC on your new PC you can copy it bac into the BACKUP directory and restore it.

If you have a fast connection, it's just as easy to download the entire thing fresh to a new hard drive.  If you don't, archiving your files and burning those to the cdr is probably easiest.

Thanks! The thing is that i have mods. Does the archiving, backup your mods as well as everything else?

If so, That's the way for me to go. IF not, i'll copy the directories and then overrite the newly created directories after another install.

End of quote

No, it doesn't. Just the files in the download manifest are archived.

Ok..Seems like i should do both..archive and back it up plus save the game dir and subdirectories as to keep my mods and after the game is unpacked again, overrite the folders and subfolders with my game dir and subdirs save.
