flemming i remember in another thread that switching to english made it work I wonder if you have microsoft word you could write your name and insert the @ symbol, then copy and paste it into galciv. onece it's saved there you shouldn't have to retype it again

hmm, I tried doing so in notepad, but the CTLR-V option just didnt work.
Do I need MS Word for this???

I'm not sure if GalCiv supports the Ctrl-V shortcut for paste, and if it doesn't, it may not support cut and paste at all.

I had the same problem with a german keyboard, but since I set up a US-keyboard layout as my secondary choice (WinXP) there was a key combination for switching to the US-layout, argh, cant remember it at the moment, but I wrote it in the other thread...

Found my old message...

"Alt" and "Shift" switched to a US-layout for me. @ is at "Shift" and "2" in a US-layout.

Well, we had this problem with one of our earlier games, and my solution was to put the @ symbol in there for you, which some of you found cheesy. :P But, hey, it works. So we'll do the same thing for Gal Civ.

And for those that dont want a US keyboard layout:

You can switch back to your "normal" layout imediatly after typing the "@" by using "Alt" and "Shift" again ;)

But I will surely agree that there has to be another long-term solution for this ;)
