I don't know if you picked up on Bobby D,s statement a couple or three months back noting that there'd been no 'important songs' written in over twenty years. I took that to be a personal little jibe towards me. He's not a mean person by any means, and I should have dusted some of my stuff off and made him happy...but my producer had a breakdown some years back, (I guess it's been twenty years), and that and other things that also make me sad have had there affect, and maybe my songs are too personal for me to be sharing or maybe I don't want the crap that comes with celebrity...I don't know. At any rate, here's an 'oldie' of mine, and Bob, don't say you didn't ask for it.

what dylan actually said was he didn't “know anybody who’s made a record that sounds decent in the past 20 years”. it seemed to me a fairly astute observation about the product of digital recording technology rather than a slam at those who write and/or perform music.

it also seems to me the same thing is true of photography and filmmaking.

considering where you seem to be takin this, i was amused by your allusion to newport and blind lemon jefferson

Kingbee, this is between Bob and me. But it's always nice to hear from you. I'm glad to hear you're doing well and that your keen perceptors are still in place...but what's with your blog? I went there a day or two back and got a strange reception. What's that?
I got the idea for this post while returning from Alpha 7, and I'll never go there again, maybe. Just tryn' t' keep sanity in sight, you know? Bob, you out there?
