Suspeckted Gets Props....from himself

I'm not exactly sure what my longest bike ride was before yesterday. I always estimated that the longest I had gone was around 75 miles or so. Well yesterday I put away 83.51 miles with only an hour lunch/tune-up break during it. I'm feeling pretty good about myself. So good in fact that I had my friend annie pick me up so we could go buy massive brownies from lunds to fuel us for the cd purchasing splurge that followed. I bought 4 cds last night. Unfortunately one of them was very disappointing, but I might be able to pawn it off on my little brother.

I'd share the names with you, but you wouldn't know them anyway.

I had a few close calls on the ride. Mostly as a result of riding down Lake St. in Minneapolis during the final stretch. Those right turning cars who don't signal are going to the end of me someday. Then some lady honked at me in St. Paul, though I really have no idea why. So please people for the sake of morons like me...SIGNAL!

Todays agenda involves taking a kid from our afterschool program to Dairy Queen. I was asked to be the "reward" for accomplishing school work on time and such by his mother. I'm actually very flattered to have this opportunity, I just hope that it's worthwhile for both of us. Also this morning I'm going to wake up my lil' sis to get her to go to the grocery store with me to pick up some ingredients for blueberry pancakes and then maybe browse a garage sale or 2.....don't you just love Sundays.

Speaking of love. I got a phone call last night from my lady friend so she could tell me that she really liked me and that I was "so fabulous." Some people don't like them, but I love intoxicated phone calls, especially when the phone gets passed around at the bar to the point where I'm talking to someone who I don't know and has no idea who I am. I never leave my phone on if I'm sleeping or don't want to be bugged so hey, might as well receive some silly phone calls. And who minds being called "fabulous" even if the suggestion of such is alcohol influenced?

Out,
Suspeckted

Wow, that is a lot of miles! I live in Minnnesota too, in Minneapolis, Lake street is a bikers nightmare, Niccolet is bad too, a biker was hit there the other day.
Have you thought of doing the ironman? It is 100 miles and held every year in april in Lakeville.

Awesome! I just recently bought a new bike (my last one was stolen a while ago) so I need to get riding some more.

Holy Shit, Ted!  You're a freakin' biking animal!  Ever thought about doing an Ironman competition?

Now I feel ashamed because I'm only swimming a mile a day....

I rarely make them, but I think they are generally pretty damned good. It's nice when someone who is in the process of losing braincells as you speak, managed to recall you from their fuzzy memory and just felt the need to share the love. They might be hard to understand, but the end all is that they were thinking of you while they were out having fun. Nothing wrong with that.

Thanks for all the congrats guys! I've gotta lotta respect for Ironman competitors (hell, I have respect for anyone who rides bikes) but I don't have a road bike, nor do I intend to purchase one anytime soon and the Ironman definitely demands it. 100 miles is my goal for the summer and I think I'm well on my way to obtaining it...which, without a roadbike is all the more of an accomplishment.

Janders - what kind of bike did you get? I think I'm going to do the Munger trail this summer from Hinckley to Duluth which is eventually (might already) supposed to go to Split Rock Lighthouse. I've done the Munger from Duluth to Jay Cooke and it's a really nice paved trail.

Only 83 miles, Ted? C'mon, I drive my car at least that far on the weekends...

I'm putting this in perspective for me: It's 90 miles from my house to Duluth. That'd be like riding my bike that far. Crazy. Maybe that's why you "eat every possible piece of candy in sight", you need the energy!

I wanna be Ted (withheld) when I grow up.

That might be why, but I think I just like candy. Unfairman, I hope you and I don't ever grow up....let's just stay in never-neverland and fight pirates...arrr!
