Precursor Artifacts

Have they been completely removed?

In the DA beta, there aren't ANY precursor artifacts. Why have they been removed? Have they been removed because of asteroids? because if they have, I would prefer precursor over asteroids. Is this just in the beta DA or have the precursors gone the way of the dodo?
