Can a "bank error in your ..." persist for many turns?

I had one (and only one) that was still there after I took it (moved my ship on the same
tile). I was able to collect my $100 for 10-15 turns until the flowerette finally went out.
So, the question is: Is it to be expected that an event can have several occurances on the
same tile, or is this something that should be corrected.
