Boredom

What's in a word?
Letters, that's what!
a means of communication,
Interesting, or a yawn

of

Boredom

Dull
Tedious
Uninterested

With life?
with self?
been there, done that!
read this, seen that!

Too jaded to see beyond one's nose
thus boredom sets in
"yaaawwwwwn"!

Boredom raises it's weary head
looking pitiful, with disdain
dares to take a look at life
going on all around
without it

Yes!
it's just a state of mind
wake up you lazy ass!
challenge yourself,
get inspired, be inspired
by what's around you
by others who try

Listen with keeness
voice a thought
an inspiration
shared
turn that frown upside down!
Don't be bored out of your mind
play a game, read a story
watch something or make it up as you go along

Boredom
is it still with you?
do you enjoy feeding
from its mouth?
share a thought
be inspired
just don't rain on my parade
I'm too busy fanning the flames
of my mind
you do the same
or shut the fuck up!

when my kids were younger - more easily amused - to keep them from being bored in a restaurant, I would play games. One was a pencil and paper game called sprouts.

1) You start with any number of dots on a paper, usually 5 to 10.
2) The object is to have the last move.
3) A move is joining any two dots with a line (usually curved).
4) You're not allowed to cross lines.
4) Every time you draw a line, you put another dot somewhere on it
5) Only 3 lines from any dot

thanks for the poem!

I know of the game but didn't know the actual game, it definitely can be fun when you're bored!

thanks for the poem!

I was bored...so I read this.

Heh, heh...I like it, has a bit of inspiration in it. Well, either inspiration or you calling on people's bullshit.

! A little of both Zoo! I started writing this when my two youngest were complaining how bored they were! Then I read somewhere else about people being bored, and I thought of some comments I've read about JU being boring! A combination that inspired!!

As far as I'm concerned, to allow yourself to be bored means you're not using your imagination. I am NEVER bored. Nice poem, though.

I can't imagine how hard it would be to keep a couple of young minds amused. I imagine it is a tough job.

Mason,

The cat in the picture is a dead-ringer for mine, except she prefers the odd cocktail (or fishtail, for that matter). Stuffonmycat is a funny site.
