Auto ship movement suggestion

I'm sitting here thinking the game has lock-up when its really moving auto-pilot ships and survey ships on auto-survey. There is no indication that the game is doing anything except the Turn button is a dot.

My suggestion: the News box (lower right cornor) is not being used. Displaying a message "ship 'x' moving", "survey ship 'x' scanning for anomoly" would give the player the feeling the game is running, as well as something to look at, as this transition period can last several minutes.

Think I've gotten this fixed.

Ted,

To get a better feel of when the "turn" button changes to a "dot" (actually a clock face, one of the universal "busy" indicators), do the following on a game where you only have a few (well, no more than 30) ships on autopilot: Turn "autoturn" off and "watch sips on autopilot" on. When you have moved all of your ships that are on manual, your ships on autopilot are moved. Notice the "turn" button does not change. After all of the ships on autopilot have moved click the "turn" button. Now the turn button gets the clock face on it.

Lucky,
My auto-turn is always off mid to end-games and I do watch auto-ships in the early exploration stage (under 15 colony ships and scouts). I was hoping to do some reading during big end-game (100+ ships) auto-moving. :)

non-related topics:

1) Find does have a minor bug: if a ship has moves left and I either sell it or change status to guard, the Find button doesnt go to next ship unless I hit spacebar or Turn. :(

2) When a constuctor leaves orbit, I like to check various starbases to decide where to send it. Since starbases cant move, is there any way to keep that constructor in an auto-pilot queue for an auto-pilot right-click? :) I've seen too many starbases go on auto-pilot. :(

Ted,

Permit me to add my voice to the star base going to autopilot problem. I find it annoying also. I know it is because of what I do, and I end up chiding myself for it, but perhaps I should have raised this some time ago as a minor playability issue for Stardock to look into.
