HP finds formula to turn ink to gold

You know those lists that show that if you bought bottled water by the gallon its like $40 or if you bought white-out by the gallon its $500 or something like that.. Well HP calculated how much Inkjet Toner costs / Gallon... Ready for it.... $8,000 (US) / Gallon!!!! What a crock... and im sure it COSTS them about $10/gallon.

These guys are thieves--and it's not only HP. They sell you a $50 printer and ask $30-40 for the cartridges because the print head is embedded in the cartridge. Then, to top it, the cartridges included with the printer are "demos", i.e. they contain about 1/3 of the ink in a normal cartridge. There is little we can do about it because they know that refilling cartridges is a shlep. I suggest they sell the printers for ten bucks (if they were honest), and relieve some of the pain.

Back in the 50s, The CEO of Gillete told his officers - We are not in the razor business. We are in the razor blade business! Give them the razors, we will make money on the blades because they have to buy a lot of blades, but only one razor.

So that is what all printer manufacturers do. It is a racket. And a profitable one.
