Purchasing Question

Hello,
I would like to buy GalCivII: Gold, but the PC I wish to play it on doesn't have access to the internet. The only access to the internet that I have is here, at the computer science department, or at my friends houses. Now herein lies the problem, I understand that I have to download StarDock and install the game via that? Which is a pain as
a) I won't be playing the games on these PCs
b) They all run linux

Aside from buying the boxed version (which I'll probably do anyway, if I buy), is there any way of getting an installer from the internet, onto my little usb stick which I can then ferry home to my PC there?

Cheers,
Pod.

Not if you can only do it via Linux... and you'd need a pretty big USB stick.

If this is the case then no, you wouldn't be able to (not easily anyway). The game can only be downloaded through the Stardock Central program, and SDC doesn't generally deal well with running under emulation. A full VM might be enough but that's be a lot of trouble to go through, and you'd need to make a return trip for email activation as well.

The box is indeed your best bet, expecially as the version on the retail discs does not require activation as the downloadable one does (though if you were to install any patches that are later released, you would then need to activate).
