Your motherboard may not handle a different processor. A trait that is rather typical of a name brand system.
You will want to check with Dell to see if you can upgrade the processor on that system. If you cannot, then ask them if their is a motherboard/cpu combo that will fit in your case. Be prepared for some spendage if you have to put a new Motherboard/cpu combo in it though.
