Newbie - How do I change fonts w/i a skin

I have object desktop package including Windowblinds and Skinstudio. I know that in the User overide settings I can change the font of tool bars and window menus. I want to be able to control the size of the text to be larger within an active window such as MY Music. Before windowblinds I would have done this in my control panels display property's appearance tab.

Can anybody provide at least a general answer on how to change the window text font size if you are unable to answer the specific steps I need to take to resolve the below ?

I have found some skins that came with Windowblinds such as XP Charcoal II have larger fonts for the test within an active window. How can I make the active window text larger for Black Vista 2.0 ? When I try and look at it in Skinstudio they appear to be a font size of 8 and I dont know how to change it. The XP Charcoal II seems to be setup differently from a font perspective in Skinstudio.

Can anybody provide at least a general answer on how to change the window text font size if you are unable to answer the specific steps I need to take to resolve the below ?

I am totally new to this and its quite frustating to figure this out as I am sure most new people feel the same initially.

Thanks in advance.......Andy

That will still work...I did it but didnt like what it did to some gui elements.

If you want to change an individual skin...open with skinstudio and look for fonts for classic widgets...(in miscellaneous)...font 05 is the one for window text, but beware it is also the font for a few other areas...Start menu text for one.

for some reason I cant explain...negative point sizes are recommended.(about -12)

I changed the font 5 height to -14 and save the skin and then applied it but nothing changed.
The name of the font 5 still says Thona 8. Looks like I get a box where I can change the style of the font but the size box is protected. Am I doing something wrong ?

Sometimes you have to unload windowblinds and reload to see changes.
the greyed out parts are misleading...you have to use the edit this font button.
Defaults are usually Imported tahoma 8 or something like that.

I have another skin which doesnt have anything listed under the Miscelaneous fonts section but seems to default window text font size to what is specified in the display preferences which is what I'm looking to do. Is there a right or wrong way to set this up. On the Skin I'm having problems with would I want to remove the 5th font ? How do you insert a new font ?

Sorry to ask so many questions however really appreciate the help !

You could delete that whole section and yes it would revert to defaults and use system settings...its not supposed to,but it causes my pc font size issues.

edit font button will allow you to change any font...there is a dropdown menu.

When I re-booted my machine I got the original fonts back.

Is it possible I saved the modified skin with larger fonts to a different place than the unmodified skin ? If this is the case, where does Skin studio save skins and where should I move the modified skin to ? How do I get the modified skin to be applied when I restart my machine ?

SKS saves modified skins in the windowblinds folder.. as soon as u apply a skin it overwrites the existing skin.. if your going to make major changes i find it best to save the skin under a new name.. it can then be loaded directly from SKS recent files list or from WBconfig.

Its also helpful to zip a copy of ur skin for backup periodically. To do this just choose Zip for distribution from the FILE menu.

Also.. i find if your having font problems its best to delete all font presets and start from scratch as IR Braniac suggested. Its a sure fix.

That never happened to me.

Its always best to assign all fonts...that way windowblinds knows what you want...however...you could UN-assign all fonts and windows would choose all of them for you. Then your sytem settings should be the deciding factor.
