THQ CFO Ed Zinser has confirmed reports that THQ wishes to generate more money from their own intellectual properties. Zinser commented that the publisher had been making annual iterations for many franchises including the WWE, Pixar and Nickelodeon licenses and will now begin making bi-annual entries into many of their own properties such as Saint's Row and Red Faction.
Zinser commented that "We've got Saints Row which was launched recently, this [fiscal] year, Red Faction from a few years back which you'll be seeing in the future as a sequel, Stuntman scheduled for fiscal '08, Juiced, which is a racing title, MX, which is an off-road racing title, and Destroy All Humans! as well."
Zinser continued saying that THQ isn't done building its brands, and will continue with strong franchises such as Company of Heroes, the upcoming Frontlines: Fuel of War and plans to expand the newly acquired Ultimate Fighting Championship license into a yearly cash cow much like the WWE franchise.
