Hey, Gang!

Balanced mods don't cause any change in your score. I use mods sometimes and enjoy it a lot! Have fun!

I'm now playing a game in which I've modded literally everything... even removed the defaults from the Data folder. Out of curiosity, I retired the game to check my score... no problems.

My conclusion... the Metaverse doesn't care about mods at all, it only cares about balance. As long as your mod doesn't give you ridiculous advantages, I can't see there'd be any problem.

I play all my games with MODS. I use every mod avaialbe from the GalCiv site as well as mods from the Spellforce mod site.

I do ocassionally get an anomolous score, but I am never sure why.

You've probably trip the PQ flag. THat's the most common. I got a couple of zeros wHen I used all the mods. Cari said that I'd tripped the PQ flag. 40% PQ ability is the biggest you can have.

At one point you could trip a flag for having too much money too early in the game. I know Cari said she was going to look at tightening the rules for that one (because you can some times legitamtely (sp?) have a lot of money early). I don't know if it made it into any release yet.

If the PQ flag is the one that trips, then there must be a time limit on it, i.e., it must flip early in the game. I have had games that do submit with plantes that start out as 20-22 and get all the way up to 120. That is certainly more than the 40% rule.

Actually, I would like to see a change in the game that limits the improvement, not flips an unknow switch that you don't know about until a few days later and thought you had won, only to find out you lost. It seems to me that would be an easy fix to the game since they have the detection mechanism, just change the response with a message and limit the change to the max allowed at that particular time into the game.

It doesn't look at the individual planet's PQ bonus--even without mods you can get that above 40% easily--it looks at your empire's PQ bonus. The one that's affected by the starting pick, the Terraformer wonder, and, for instance, the Abandoned Terraformer anomaly mod. At least that's what's been said on this forum before. I don't go in for most of those big PQ mods.~SDC~

It is the ability which is the value displayed on your empire's stats screen.
