Take-Two has quietly announced via its earnings report that gamers can expect another entry into the Civilization franchise. The announcement comes as no surprise, since no company in their right mind would spend millions of dollars on a developer like Firaxis to not use its properties along with their talent.
As for when gamers can expect the new title, or whether it will be Civilization V or another spin-off like CivCity: Rome remains unknown. The report simply stated that "Starting in 2008, 2K will have new content based on its Civilization franchise," but did not explicitly say if that was the fiscal year 2008 or the 2008 that everyone else lives in. Therefore the title could range from November 1, 2007-December 31, 2008.
