OK, I just spent 35 minutes running through *every* menu item in this silly program and eventually found the process by which one actually gets this thing to download something.
Take some notes: This is what StarDock *should* have included in the email that gave one their serial number:
1) Start up the StarDock Central program
2) Click on Tools and then and then "Register Products..."
3) Click on the "Dregin.net" tab (why? who knows..)
4) In the 'Application' drop down, select "Galatic Civilizations"
5) Enter you serial number into the "Serial" field
6) Click on "OK"
7) Back at the main StarDock screen, click on the 'Software' button
8) Click on the 'Dregin.net' tab
9) *Now* there will be an entry for Galactic Civilization that one can use to start the download (actually, there are apparently a bunch of entries)
So, to answer the earlier question, the problem was that the process by which on downloads the game is completely undocumented and entirely unlike how anyone else does electronic purchases (I've never seen a paradigm where one goes to a completely unrelated area [i.e. dregin.net] in order to register a product *before* one gets in order to have download links appear somewhere else).
If StarDock is going to insist on using this paradigm, you really have to include some instructions to people on how to get to the point of downloading things.
