Should we be using the GCIIDA.exe or the DALaunch.exe to start a DA game?

Either. DALaunch opens the chapter selector whilst GCIIDA opens directly into the game.

BTW edit line 5 in your 'prefs.ini' (mydocs/my games/GC2DarkAvatar) and change the 0 to a 1 to skip opening movie!
