Found awesome bug in Galactic Civilization II

I've a BIG problem with this game: i'm completly addicted to it, i'm spending all my free time with it, and my wife is starting to threaten me to throw my laptop out of the window.

Any ideas?

Get a new wife!

Yes, spend a little more time with your wife.

Spending a little less time with the game will seem trivial compared to losing all time with your wife...

...or your laptop, whichever comes first.

We must prioritize correctly, the things that matter most.

And to tell you the truth, if you put a stupid game above your wife...

...you deserve anything she does to you.

I do not see it as a problem for you at all, just ask your wife to call round to see me. I will make it a priority to ensure she gets all the attention, and a little more for good luck, she deserves.

You just carry on playing your game

I was joking, obviously..

It was only a way to tell you that i love this game.
(my wife is addicted to animal crossing on nintendo ds, so we are happy)

Anyway i've think a solution.

If i build a xeno recreation center into my kitchen, pheraps my wife....

..ok, ok.... i'll stop.

Maybe you can make an Animal Crossing mod for GC2, and then you can play together!

...or StarDock could make a version for nintendo DS... uhm...

That would be awesome.

Specifically for the wife problem: if Stardock isn't going to add multiplayer for Galciv, is there a way we could add a feature where the wife THINKS she's playing with him?

Wow, I have the same problem. My wife complains of "obsessive behavior." Maybe like checking the forums during work?

Solution we are trying: schedule time for GC2:DA during the week (not on weekends, I am told), in the evening, after the kids are in bed. Strict time limit of 2-3 hours. Get used to saving games, and be patient.

For me, it is that, or uninstall the game.

Good luck!

Look on the bright side, When you're single you'll have even more time to play. And you'll have loads of extra cash to spend on a state of the art desktop.

Not to mention you can move the fridge into the living room and have cold tins on tap. and just bring in the wheelie bin as well for all the takeaway boxes.

Life couldn't be sweeter.

Yeah, this doesn't sound like a bug in the game, but in RL. The "S.O. Bug" which keeps one from doing things of real importance - like playing GalCiv2

Sic a virus checker on her! How'd she get past your firewall?

You see, this is exactly why multiplayer is so important.

I came so close to not buying galciv... usually i will put back on the shelf all non multiplayer games you know, because my wife and me love to do things together!

This year we had sooo much fun plaing Dungeonsiege together.... and then when i play Galciv, she will say "whats that?" and ask other questions and make me feel so guilty because she cannot join in because there is no multiplayer, so sad.
