Microsoft has announced the release date for the Vista only version of Halo 2 as May 8, 2007, the same day that the software giant expects to release its Live online service for PC gamers. The firm also announced an expected June release date for Shadowrun, explaining that it will be the first title to allow PC and Xbox 360 gamers to play across the platforms.
Live will enable players to use one account for play on Xbox 360 or PC and will come in two flavors, following the Xbox 360 version of Live. Silver membership will remain free, with very basic functions available, and the Gold membership, boasting more multiplayer features, including multiplayer across platforms, will cost about $50 per year.
