QUESTIONS FROM A NEWB

ok two questions for ya guys/gals

1. How do I play battle of the gods without having to be the boring happy go lucky terrans. I have a few (amazing) custom spicies I would like to play but I only have the option to play the (boring) terrans.

2. DO all my mods have to be in the same folder? I DL mods that ask me to put them in diffrent locations, I havent noticed any taking place in my games, wahts the deal!
-more over, I wish some one would just condense the new techs and invasion tactics into one damn mod, it would be easier and you would be a hero to the mod community...I bet.

3. I know I said two but I lied, How do I get all those new awsome ship designs you guys make into my game, Mod installation is so complicated in this game.

1. The player race in scenarios is not changeable in-game, unfortunately, so you'll need to mod the scenario file. Edit the Battle of the gods.gc2scenario file in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\English\Scenarios (or wherever you've installed the game at) and change the PlayerRace number on line 7.

2. Some mods are designed to go in the Mods folder, while some are designed to change the game's core data files directly. Those that go in the mods folder will generally have their own sub-folders all to themselves, but if two (or more) mods all contain different files (no conflicts) you can generally just move all their files into one sub-folder of the Mods folder. Then go into the options menu in-game, enable mods and select the folder to use with the 'change directory' button below the enable checkbox. Note that you must have at least version 1.2 of the game or you will not have this functionality.

3. Any ship designs posted on the library that don't require any mods can simply be unpacked, and the .shipcfg and .xml files in them placed in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships. Then play with the appropriate ship style and they'll be available. Note that if you have standard GC2 only, you will not be able to use any designs made using the new pieces in Dark Avatar.
