How to slow things down

I have re-installed Dread Lords after a period of not playing. I now have a new computer that is a dual core with a 256MB ATI video card. What is happening is that the planet picture in the planet screen where you decide what you want built is spinning very fast. Also in the ship build design the ships spin around in circles like 5 times a second. Almost makes me go vertigo watching it.Any way i can slow all of this down? I also have crashed like 3 times in 1 hour playing this game. I ahve Windows XP with 2MB ram. Any help would be appreciated or I guess I will stop playing this game again, which is too bad since it is a good game. Thanks

Planets and ships spinning out of control is most generally due to the use of an Athlon 64 x2 CPU without updated CPU drivers. If this the case with your machine, download and install the AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) file found at the bottom of this page.

Once you have that resolved, please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. If this is a DA report, you'll find the debug in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar instead. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your crashing.

Make sure that you open and copy the debug immediately after a crash. If you start the game again, it will erase it and make a new one.

Go tell your boss you deserve a raise, I did what you said and no more planets and ships spinning around at Warp 9. Thanks. I will show what happens the next time I get a crash. Again thanks for the help.
