Stardock has some nerve placing purchase links inside Object Desktop!!

I already paid for Object Desktop

I saw today that Stardock changed the Dreams folder in Stardock Central OD to "Purchase"  I take offense to this since I already paid for OD and do not intend to be nickel and dimed within a program that I already paid for. This is just cheap and petty for Stardock to resort to.  Just my opinion.

I just downloaded it...saw no "Purchase" option. Maybe I'm special.

I just checked mine and DeskScapes, Dreams. and DreamMaker all have an 'install' button, but nothing that says 'purchase'.

hmmm...

Oh! I'm special, too!

I see them in the "purchased" section of the Object Desktop suite . . but it's PART of ODNT, so I have it.

Wish I had Vista Ultimate so I could use it. . .

To get rid of the "purchase" button in OD, uninstall DeskScape and then reinstall it through OD.
The "purchase" button will now be an "install" button.

Now that you're an employee...they might have a copy around that you could "try".

I had the purchase problem as well, but in the most recent version of Stardock Central, I believe this is fixed.

OK, finally after several uninstalls and reinstalls of SD and Deskscape it updated, What a pane. Sorry for all the ranting. Now if Nvidia would fix the vista drivers, but that's a whole different rant.

Ahhhh..Persistance pays off in the end, a most useful way to expend energy other than picking on poor SD...everybody tries that first instead of looking at the problem itself..

xgman, sorry that you had problems.  However, please realize that Dreams are extremely new and it takes time to work out all the bugs.  Another thing to take note of- it's beta.  If you aren't showing pre-releases you won't see it at all.  Betas aren't perfect.  Matter of fact, you can usually be assured that there will be bugs since they are, well, in beta.

I've been in beta for the last 49 years...

Just so you know you arent alone. I have the purchase button on the Dreams subfolder. Click that and it takes me to google with "PLEASE ENTER ME" as search. I have seen others suffer the same problem as well.

I will try the uninstall and reinstall through SC to see if that works.

edit: tried it and now getting the "XP or higher" message stopping me from installing it just like higher up. Will try a few more uninstalls to see how I get on.

I submitted a support request through stardock central online support page just after Easter. I havent had a response yet. I sent it again as it has been past the 2-3 days quoted for response.
