If you read the whole thread it seems it's due to overclocking on a particular motherboard. So just reset your timings.

No actually it's not overclocking. Dreamscene as it is right now is problematic . I've had this error too, never saw it when dreamscene was not running. Also on some games it causes crash to desktop , as soon i set a regural wallpaper and reboot its all fine. Lets hope microsoft/nvidia sort this out soon.

that error is one due to overclocking and also due to the fact that the 100 series of drivers due have major issues..you should install their beta drivers much better around..also whenever yor install deskscapes and it starts to go downhill reinstall the beta drivers..also turn off your DEP as this seems to help..no overclocking till drivers are all set with nvidia..i have almost the same set up as you do and through trial and error this has worked...but the way it is installed is key as well..when installing deskscapes, video drivers, etc...make sure to set background to some default wallpaper...don't give up on ULTIMATE yet..hang on..

Well i have i bigger problem I cannot install any graphics driver from nvidia  (yes i do have a geforce card).
lol. Except for the ones that came with vista and yes a xp driver it works until side bar turns one, works fine in save mode. The message that i get when i try to install is this "The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or application request"
this maybe the cause of battlefield 2 not lunching i have tryed every thing like the repeir vista under the boot menu that did not help, save mode did not help ethier. I am going to try and disable virtualitation on my prossesser that may help.

Does anyone know a website to report vista bugs?

thanks in advance.
