any form of documentation available?

I would love to find some basic documentation for OD+. I downloaded a bunch of dock components but can't seem to figure how to get them to be available while creating or modifying a dock. Am I just plain challenged?

Any help is appreciated...

I downloaded a bunch of dock components

Docklets, or dock backgrounds?

If they're backgrounds ...either tabbed or non-tabbed, and came zipped ...you need to extract them to:

C:/Program Files/Stardock/ObjectDock/Backgrounds

If they're docklets, then they go to:

C:/Program Files/Stardock/ObjectDock/Docklets

Then when you click on 'configure dock' they should be visible under the 'Tabs & Styles' heading, or the 'Docklets' heading ...depending upon what you want to do/change.

Also, take a look at this page: CorkyO's OD+ tutorials

Hope that helps.

Corky_O's Dream under construction has a number of great Dock tutorials

HERE

Also take note of the tut for clearing the cache, sometimes necessary if you have been changing a lot of things in any of the Stardock programs

Also remeber you can always access the Start menu by simply hitting the Windows key on the keyboard.

and always save your Theme after you have set up the docks the way you want.

ps....once you get used to it you will wonder how on earth you mangaed this long without it I know I do

Am I just plain challenged?

We all are .... Why do you think people made these tuts

It's My Secret

edit..too slow....too much multitasking ..

MySecret (or should that be YourSecret/)

CorkyO's tutorial page really is under construction. About half the page is blank.

The cache tutorial is part of the material currently unavailable.

Clearing the Cache The page does a take a few minutes to load...works fine here with the latest FF. Using the link I provided in thread # 2 gives you the detailed list of all the tuts he created, just click on the title of the article.

And I forgot to add to also read the tut archiving with Stardock Central

Not too slow, MySecret ...all help is good help.

Thanks Erk

The pages are not blank, I just use a lot of images in my tutorials, so the pages take a while to load. Sorry about that.

Here are a couple direct links to the articles so you will only need to wait for six to eight images to load:

Working with ObjectDock 101 - http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/articles.aspx?aid=82930

Clearing the Cache 101 - http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/articles.aspx?aid=82461

Note - my tutorials were written before Jeff (OD+ developer) included the new 'library' folder which appears in 'My Documents' of your account. You can use either the folders shown in the tutorial (which are in the ObjectDock parent folder) or the folders in the 'ObjectDock Library'. Please note that for ease of use, it is best to use one or the other - not both (although possible, this makes troubleshooting an issue).

My other tutorials on ObjectDock Plus outline the individual creation of a non-tabbed (zoomer) dock, a tabbed dock, a system tray dock, editing a non-tabbed (zoomer) dock, and editing a tabbed dock.

I hope this helps, and apologize again for the load times of my not so small images.
