Does anyone know if "ESC" button returns you to the main screen in the 1.6 beta?

I hate the fact that the "ESC" button does not always close the active window and return you to the main screen (sometimes it opens up the "options" screen instead). See this post for details: WWW Link

Does anyone know if this problem is addressed in the 1.6 beta?
