Poem: Looking

Prose or poem. I don't know which. Some thoughts, I guess.

looking
======

fury in the storm

fading light behind the eyes

sleeping babe in church

stranger in the shadows' piercing gaze

begetter and birther both

milk that sates the hungry pit

silence in the stillness

comfort in the crowd

pattern in the weave

elegance in the whole

absence in the loneliness

treasure in the ground

frustration in the glimpse

aftertaste of promise

you turn the corner

where are you now

..............................................................................................................................

I noticed one of my wife, Mary Lou's books on the coffee table this morning.

Cute, eh?

Kitten poker anyone?. Maybe you Clem? Spike?

Don,

There is a stream-of-conciousness feel about this. I am inclined to agree with Chris about it being a little of both prose and poetry too.

Now that you mention it, I see the stream. When I was writing, I guess I was in it, so I didn't sense it. I prefer this style, personally. I find it is easier for me to re-read. It also feels more like I've been to that place where things are born. Thanks.
