desktop earth buged (no i am not talking about the price forgboy :) )

So, i have a laptop, and for me battery life is very important.  Well, it just so happens, that apparently, desktop earth does not stop itself when you are on battery power.  Maby this is a bug with the "application" side of it, it is a dynamic dream after all.  maby i am the only one who has this bug, if so, please say something.  For now, when i go on battery, it keeps spinning, and sucking the life out of my battery. I know you can easily pause it yourself, but i am going to forget one of these days, and end up loosing alot of working time.

Hi dont use a notebook but surely if you set the power saving up in vista then when on battery it would turn off the display and or put PC into standby or hibernate after a preset time.

I would think this is the standard thing to do as you would not want the screen to turn off as soon as on battery power and not sure that running a dream uses much more power than just having the screen on or a standard screen saver.

Just my thoughts.

well with other dreams, the dreams automatically paused when i went on battery power, so obviously it was an intended function. This has only happened with the earscape one, so I assume it is a bug with the dynamic side of things. also, yes, it does eat up power, any time your computer is processing grafics, it eats up more battery than just text. That is one of the reasons why text based linix gets so much more battery life. so a moveing picture would only ampliy this.

Hi I did not realise the other dreams stopped when on battery power so I can see now why you asked about it point taken on power use over txt vs graphic display DOh! should have realised, hope it gets sorted out for you as it is a pain to run out of battery power.

If I run Desktop Earth it's fine until I either unlock my laptop or come out of standby. Doing either causes Explorer to reset, it only happens with Desktop Earth so when I'm at work I don't use it, which sucks because I'm at work A LOT.
