Development houses Immersion Games and Artificial Studios have announced that their PhysX-heavy CellFactor: Revolution will be made available FREE to players coming May 8th. The sci-fi FPS is based on the Reality Engine and will be mostly unplayable without the use of a PhysX Accelerator card if the second demo is any indication.

I'm sorry, I just don't see this PhysX stuff taking off mainstream. The technology is very impressive, but unless the chipset gets bundled as part of ATI and Nvidia video cards (which neither manufacturer seems interested in), it's going nowhere fast. I just don't see gamers shelling out hundreds of dollars for an add-in PhysX card that's only used for a handful of titles.

Samething, although I would rather see it on motherboards, video cards are expensive enough.  By putting it on motherboards you won't need to buy it 2-3x for the life of that motherboard (depending how much you upgrade your video card and motherboard but I tend to get 1-2 cards for every mobo) which would save gamers money in the long run.

Also to get more support for it they should make a feasible way to make a PhysX enabled game with the ability to have it run and play well with it disabled as well (their first demo allowed you to play it with the PhysX off, and it made almost no impact to the framerate).
