"DockZip"'s

"DockZip"'s

Why no love?

Hi Everyone,

Just a general question to anyone who uploads stuff to WinCust for ObjectDock. In v1.5 I tried to put emphasis on "packaging up images for sharing" but it never seemed to take off. We had introduced the idea of "DockZip"'s where you could pack up icons and other misc files, with Name, Author, and Permissions information, which when opened would automatically extract...however in general it seems that noone wanted to make use of it. I really wanted it to be something that got used too, as then I could expand it to do backgrounds as well, and then when anyone went to the WinCustomize library and downloaded something, it would automatically download and add itself to your library instead of the process it is now of unzipping into the correct place, etc, which is non-intutive particularly for new users.

At any rate, feedback! What could've we done better? What would you have liked to see here? Don't know if we'll be improving the feature further for this particular release, but we're very interested into feedback of what you didn't like about this feature.

Thanks!

after 5 min, had received 00:08/3:00

it's embedded - cached seems to work better for me on dialup

couldn't even use view > source to snag the http to download with leechget = go to play and get: The embed code is improperly configured.

s your connection doing that?

gotta be. I can play flash games and such, though it takes a little longer to load than loading a webpage. this is the first time I had to drop the accelerator down from low to minimum.

Hmm...I used what I thought was the cheapest Dialup ...Bluefrog...only 9.99 Canadian & although slow loading never came across anything like that.

and Bichur I think you proved beyond any reasonable doubt that tuts with pics are much more reasonable & accessible for everyone.

Am I missing something? I have ObjectDock Plus 2.0 but I cannot unzip a .dockzip file? I tried associating the .dockzip with ObjectDock.exe but that didn't work. What am I mssing? I would love to download files from Wincustomize that would self-exract and place the contents in the proper folder. This would be a great help, if only I had the proper program to associate with the .dockzip files. I am running Windows Vista 32-bit. Is this the problem?

Not going to happen. They must be placed in the folders manually.

This is a very old thread. IIRC, OD2 doen't support dockzip.
