Itadakimasu!

So, I'm sitting here eating a little sushi and contemplating the various things that I have to do to get the hell out of here and on to summer break.

15 page research paper, 2 exams Wed, 1 exam next Tue, 1 bio lab, 2 chem labs, 2 page paper today, class scheduling, meeting with English teacher tomorrow, more "memorybook" entries, a public reading of one of those entries on the 26th, and last but, certainly not least, finals week.

Needless to say, I've got enough on my plate besides my shrimp and rice wrapped in nori with some soy sauce on the side.

Also, as you all have heard, the VT shootings were quite the surprise today. It really doesn't make sense to me...why some crazy ass would shoot over 60 random people. Certainly not all of those people did something bad to that guy...it's just senseless. Those kids had careers on the way, a future, a life...and now, it's gone...just like that. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by that terrible event.

I become more and more disappointed with the way this world works and the crazy shit that goes on every day it seems.

Well, I'm out for now...hopefully I won't procrastinate much longer and I can start knocking things off that list up there...

I love sushi. My wife and I regularly make our own sushi rolls, buying fresh salmon, tuna, prawn, etc to make them up.

Good luck with all the work you've got to do. Man, it looks to be heavy. Much heavier than the sushi, for sure.

As for the VT shootings, I'm shocked, to say the least. When are people going to say enough is enough? When are people going to say 'gun control'. I know it is part of your constitution, but damn, isn't it about time they added a clause or something. Okay, I will stop hijacking now.

Like you, I'm am constantly disappointed with the horror we continually visit on each other. Shocking, just shocking...

When the constitution was written, people only had muskets...perhaps they should enforce those today. A minute or so loading time with an accuracy of about 70 yards would surely decrease shooting deaths.

However...I don't believe the blame falls on the tools...but more of the crazy ass people that get ahold of them. If we took guns away, then they would use other things instead....although, I suppose it would definately give people a sporting chance. I've never owned a gun, or even fired one...it's kinda strange seeing as how most people have. The only weapons I know how to use with effectiveness are clubs, blades, and my fists.

Zoo,

To quote: "guns don't kill people, people kill people." This I understand. But if your laws made it harder to own guns, then these sorts of incidents wouldn't happen. I can't imagine the same person running through a building stabbing 30 odd people then stabbing himself to death.

Good luck with all your exams and papers and everything! I like
sushi too! It is a sad and horrible thing that happened in Virginia today!

I hope you get some things crossed off your list. I was very upset hearing about the shootings today...was at work when I heard. These types of things can happen anywhere; it's so scary.

Hope you enjoyed your sushi (I've never tried it).

2 page paper, done...picked out some candidates for classes, so that's halfway done. Not allowed to schedule until Thu...so that's pending. After Thu. I can pretty much focus on my 15 page lunker of a research paper.

Wee! College cram time fun!

*sigh* The things I do for a higher education...

Look at it this way - after the cramming comes a long vacation!

Best of luck.  And dont forget the Wasabi.

Hang in there. Btw, my son loves animals, seems to know how to handle them naturally and wants to be a vet. He'll be applying to University of Guelph in a couple of years. Good luck. Short term pain --- long term gain!

Heh, people keep pushing me to do that...the thing is, I don't want to learn all the medicine behind it and if I have to put something down I'd feel really bad about it. I'm actually hoping to be a zookeeper....working with exotic animals and teaching people about them...I like the sound of that.

That does sound better!
