Eidos Buffs Up Media Division Again

Casual Developer Morpheme Bought By SCi Subsidiary

Eidos has expanded its media division again with the acquisition of another game related company. The firm first picked up casual studio Rockpool Games in February and followed that up with the acquisition of digital distribution group that runs GamePueblo.com, Bluefish Media in March. Along with those little known companies came today's acquisition of Morpheme, a developer of casual PC titles, cell phone and other mobile games. Morpheme is best known for their adaptation of the Hitman franchise to the small screen of cell phones and are the winners of the 2005 BAFTA award for Bluetooth Biplanes.

"This is a really exciting opportunity for both Morpheme and Eidos," commented Matt Spall, CEO of Morpheme.

"It will allow us the opportunity to take our experience, talent and creativity and elevate it to the next level and to a much wider consumer audience."
