got a problem with moral here

I do not like the way money is being handled. if you get into negative cash without realizing it, thats the end of the empire. moral drops and even if you cut spending to nothing, maintenance alone is more than you can get for incoime. no way out of it. death spiral. even lowering taxes to nothing has no effect on moral, it keeps droping along with your bank balance.

Originally, the color of the font displaying the money at the top of the screen changed to yellow when you started deficit spending, and turns to red when you actually start spending money that you don't have. We're now using an alpha blended font, which you can't change the color without actually changing the font. Either this problem got lost in the shuffle of trying to get a build out yesterday, or it did get fixed and CVS overwrote the change.

There will be lots of warnings before you go into debt.

But it takes a LONG time of being in debt before any significant impact is put on your empire.

once the trouble starts though. you can't get out of it. no way to sell off stuff either to help. essentially the income need to bottom out somewhere where at 0 spending you can still get out of it. say you start losing ships, then facilities, untill you are positive profit again. moral needs to bottom out at a level where if you are at say 20% tax then you don't lose more moral ( and lower income) due to being broke.

not sure how precisely, but it is a problem.

just one accidental purchase will kick off the death spiral.

I agree with this. Some way to either sell facilities to overcome debt, or have ships / facilities randomally sold (maybe by the liquidators) to pay debt.
