EA Mythic has announced via its most recent newsletter that the anticipated MMORPG based in the Warhammer universe has been delayed. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning was set to ship in late 2007 until the 'Warhammer Online' newsletter broke the story, delaying the title till Q1 2008. Mythic CEO Mark Jacobs explained that they decided to delay the title to give it more polish. Hoping to keep their word with franchise creator Games Workshop "to make sure the game is polished, unforgettable and glorious. That was my promise to Games Workshop when I signed the deal and I intend to keep it."
Upon further questioning Jacobs confirmed that the title will remain as announced, with no content cutbacks or tradeoffs to make the new deadline. He even went so far as to explain that not only will they add polish with the additional months of time but also some minor new content. Jacobs stated "we are not cutting content or systems. In fact, we are doing just the opposite. The team is focused on making the game better by adding additional layers of polish and new content."
