safe mode?

hello all, awesome game. Almost as cool as Moo2....

anywho, i just bought the dark avatar expansion and was having a good time but
ran into a problem. I had recently installed a driver for my video card and
before i had restarted my system i had set my resolution in dark avatar too
high for my monitor or something because now when i initialize the prg it just
boots up to a black screen.

Is there a boot up in safe mode option? Also the un-install for this game doesn't
seem to work very well, shouldn't my rez options be deleted when i get rid of everything else?

Any thoughts?
