The game before this, the little pie chart in the lower left split itself between two extinct races.

My current game just bailed out to desktop abruptly when, in the middel of negotiating some funds and influence for trade goods, I tried to select the Arcean's influence points to suggest an amount.....

We are allies, if that helps....

probably the arceans had no influence and you got a divide by zero bug. That's been reported before and I fixed it in our build.

I don't think so. But they WERE going through bouts of bankruptcy or something where all their production would halt.

Still, they ended with a higher social score than me, and that's not easy!

Also, I note that the start screen said they were "tough" opponents, but the metaverse submission had them as "normal."
