Full version WB 5.5 won't work in Vista

I installed Vista Home Premium today, and when I installed my Object Desktop programs, Windowblinds will not work. It keeps telling me that I need to reboot. I did what the message box said and reinstalled with my anti-spyware programs off and it still made no difference. I'm not running the trial version of WB, I have a full OD subscription. Anyone have any ideas??????? You can post here or e-mail me at [email protected] if you can help me.

WB should run on Vista 32, don't think it's ready for 64 yet

In regards to the Vista WB not working, if you are trying to switch to a skin and it does not work. double click on the aero skin in the browser and let it change to it once, and then go back and switch to another skin so it will work.

This does not happen to everyone, but some it does

In regards to WindowBlinds not letting you get past the reboot message. I have one thing to say. Quicktime. If quicktime is installed that is the reason why your WindowBlinds will not work. I had this exact same problem on my Vista Home Premium system. I uninstalled Quicktime but it still would not work. Why, because Quicktime over writes system files needed by Windows and WindowBlinds. Over writing these files to suit it's own programs preferences makes it impossible for WindowBlinds to load.

If you have Quicktime installed, the only way to fix this is to Re-Install Vista and DO NOT install Quicktime or anything that installs Quicktime with it.

The reason it isn't working is because the WindowBlinds service isn't starting. Click start, type in "services.msc", without the quotes, and hit enter. Then find Stardock WindowBlinds in the list. Right click it, go to Properties, make sure it is set to start Automatic, hit apply, then click Start. Then open WB and it should work.

Quick-Time and WindowBlinds seem to work well together on Vista 64-Bit.
No problem here with those two running together.

Check and make sure the theme is set to Classic or Modified.

I have the same problem with the trial version, it seems pretty common, looks like a registry key isn't being edited by the installer properly or something. hope someone fixes it soon, I cant be bothered waiting for WB6, so i figured, stick with the trial version of 5 till then xD

Actully I have it running fine on 64 bit it installed without a hitch
