The ability to rename planets within a system would be cool. That way when you look at your colony list it means something to you. Naming the stars is great but planet naming would be better.

Besides Stardock did it in the Sol system at the beginning. I HAVE seen my planets revert to a Sol I, II, III scheme with no intervention from me.

Just out of curiosity, what do you name your star systems?

I myself have been using names (Weyrs, and then names of dragons, etc) from the Pern series. Sort of along the same lines and all, about colonists populating a planet. So I have Ruatha, and Benden, and Fort, etc.

Watcha name 'em after?

I'm really original. I name them after cities in texas. Texas doesn't rule the universe...but we will.

I just think It would be more realistic from a game play point of view, I name my star systems after exotic cars...Lexus,Porsche..etc

Usually I don't care what they are called, but at times I will add initials indicating colonization events.

"Would you like to trade PQ-30 or Moral-25 for that SB and a few techs?"

With a quick name change, you can easily find that planet that has the +50% starship bonus.

I usually name them after planets from FL. Like Rheinland, Manhatten, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Bretonia.

Meh... The only time I ever bother changing them is if I come across a very high PQ planet early on, either naturally or through random events. I then name that system Terra Prime, and build everything there instead of on earth. :)
