Pentium IV an absolute must?

Game requirements list a Pentium IV as a requirement. Is this an absolute requirement, or a recommended requirement? Point Blank... Will it run on a Pentium 2 MMX system (128 meg memory)?

I have a 466 Celeron and 192 mb of ram and I haven't noticed anything other than a little choppiness.

Yeah, I have never heard the requirement of a Pentium 4...

I finished the game and won a cultural victory
in a large galaxy

with my pii400 and 256 meg memory..

the only problem was sometimes the video movies stuttered.

Runs just fine on a Pentium MMX 200MHz, as long as you don't expect all the movies to be perfectly smooth, although I'll probably be moving GalCiv over to the half-assembled Celron 300 on my floor eventually.
