A boost to planet quality? What the heck?!!

I have been playing this game for more than 8 hrs now and NOT ONCE, my plante gain the 35 quality boost, which many AI planets have more than one system has this bonus. Is this a way to balance the game play or is just my bad luck? Thx in advance.

Bad luck. Rotten, stinking, bad luck. It feels great when the shoe's on the other foot, that's for sure.

End transmission.

My luck sucks I do not think I ever found a Ranger or get one of my Planets boosted to class 35

but

On the other hand Space Sharks have no problem finding me.

The other day my allies got a boost to all near planets, ironically the only planet of theirs in the area was the one with the bonus, the other solar systems near that were mine. :p

Oh and never got a Precursor ship neither.

I'm currently playing my first game and I discovered a Ranger ;) it's almost singlehandedly keeping my military strong enough that no one messes with me. Also had a similar experience to Tziu Chtzao with the planet booster.

If you discovered a ranger early in the game you should have attacked! You would have had an almost invincible ship capable of wiping out the entire enemy fleet and starbases!

Yep, like the others are saying, just really bad luck there mate.
First game I colonised a planet with a base class of 20 something I believe it was, and got a +16 to planet quality for the two other planets in the system, which were 12 at the time. Class 28 planets in easy colonising distance from my homeworld. Woohoo! :)

You can always try and take those planets away from the AI, don't forget that. ;)

solatir,
Since it was my first game I wanted to experiment with tech/projects rather then go straight military. Plus the Altarians were at war with everyone--and winning, even if I did wipe out their fleet, I'm not sure I had enough population to conquer all their planets. As it played out, everyone the Altarians beat up surrendered to me, I became the big boy and won via culture. All without going to war at all. Beginner A.I. and all but still cool to experience. I tend to try and role-play tbs games in a sort of early U.S. way--slow to go to war but building the infrastructure to wreck shop if I have to. This is the first game where this path seems to be truly viable. I'm excited to see if I can make it work against stronger A.I.

I haven't seen any AI got so lucky as the AI on your game Udius so far.(which is good for me hehe)
It is random, keep that in mind.
